UGANDA INDUSTRIAL INSTITUTE HAILS KAVEERA RECYCLING BI PRODUCTS.

 

Industrial experts amid them the environmentalists,took time to explore one of the giant Kaveera Recycling Industry,Pipeline Design and Foam Industries [PDF] at the outskirts of Kampala city in Luzira.

It was a follow up of KCCA organised climate change summit at Serena hotel where RECYCLING Plastics/Kaveera was viewed as the utmost solution towards what experts call the uncalled for kaveera ban talk since 2006.

instead of ban talk everytime,the environmental experts including the UN country director recommended sorting at source waste management and mass involvement of local plastics industries in management of their own waste.

Most of all,the team appreciated the recycling industrial machines that are worth billions of money under the roof of this factory.

On the production part, as viewed from pictures,thy were shocked that most of the plastic household utensils eg plates and egg trays were being manufactured from kaveera recycled pellets.IMG_5518

Other products from kaveera recycling are electricity conduit pipes,Culvert pipes, roofing and construction sheets,rain water harvest tanks with Genetex enterprises,plastic packages for body cream and other packages at Pipeline Industrial company etc. Plastics industries in Uganda are 37 and 20 of them do Mass kaveera recycling.people who pick it from environment are handsomely paid per kilo grammes.

Uganda must follow other developing countries and protect its own industry for inclusive benefits such as tax revenues,much needed jobs for uneducated Ugandans and supporting social sectors such as Umeme,communication companies that benefit in billions contributions for services offered to these companies.

NOTE: Environmental management goes hand in hand with Industrial development.The two aspects benefit human survival.

KCCA Executive director, Jennifer Musisi has taken a positive step in the right direction to access the capacity of Plastic Recycling industries on the move to control waste littering across Kampala Capital.
Musisi Visited Luuka Plastic Industries in Kawempe on Friday lastweek, the aim was to verify facts of the existing Recycling industries if there must be enforcement on good litter habits.
In the posted pictures, is Hajj Badru Muwanga, the proprietor Luuka Plastics and Mr. Naim Sabra the proprietor, Pipeline and Foam Industries Luzira Industrial Park. The duo took time off their busy schedule to show and explain Kaveera Recycling system to Jenifer Musisi.

KCCA is moving towards waste disposal control mechanism and the sorting at source system, this will directly promote Recycling Systems across the country and also minimize Kaveera and other plastics litter in the environment.
Luuka plastics is one of the strongest Kaveera recyclers, the proprietor has invested large amounts in billions and is expected to expand the recycling status if government comes out with a clear policy waving off the ban.
According to stastics by Uganda Plastic Manufacturers and Recyclers Association [UPMRA], 3600 Metric tons of used Buveera are recycled per month.
According to Hajji Badru Muwanga, the investors are more than willing to double their capacity if only government puts in place a clear policy waving the ban.
‘’Recycling is reputed worldwide; it’s a source of climate mitigation and plays a big role in managing the environment.’’Naim Sabra explained to the news crew.

ENVIRONMENTALISTS VIEW ‘RECYCLING’ AS WAVER FOR KAVEERA BAN.

KCCA organised climate change summit in Kampala has viewed plastic recycling as Way forward something experts view as waver of kaveera ban. The team of environmental experts that included United Nations experts led by their country director nodded the need to strengthen plastic recycling.
As viewed in picture above, KCCA EDJeniffer Musisi  in a deeper dialogue with UPMRA spokesperson Moses Brown Ategeka exchanging notions on waste management and how plastic kaveera industries will effectively take part in waste collection as done before.

UPMRA is an umbrella for all polythene recyclers and manufacturers in Uganda. It has committed in today’s minutes to allocate more waste bins across busy centers as this will help to retrieve buveera back to factories for recycling.
Minster without portfolio, Eng Abraham Byandala stressed the need of environmental management policies but also advised stake
holders to be vigilant of environmental policies that undermine development in countries that are still developing.

Discussants enphasised Recycling as the only way Uganda can save and elevate the already established plastic kaveera industries. UPMRA publicist assured the dignitaries that if government puts a clear policy on polythene/Kaveera management it would lead to a doubled investment in Recycling technological equipments.

Currently Uganda has 37 major industries out of them, over 20 are specialists in Recycling buveera for other useful products ie Construction sheets, household plastics among others.

The industries contribute to revenue generation in billions and vast jobs for uneducated Ugandans.
